Hartford Is Home to the Residence of Samuel L. Clemens
Literary favorites like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer have been delighting readers for decades. Samuel Langhorne Clemens, alias Mark Twain, was a prolific writer who was quite eccentric. Some of his best-known works include:
- The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
- The Prince and the Pauper
- Life on the Mississippi
- The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
- A Tramp Abroad
- A Connecticut in King Arthur’s Court
The Twain family lived in this home from 1874 – 1891. It is a fascinating architectural wonder. The tour is a guided tour, and masks are required. Tickets are:
- Adults - $21
- Seniors - $19
- Children 6 – 11 - $11
- Children under 6 -free.
You can currently take a virtual tour as well. Hours are Monday – Sunday: 10 Am – 4:30 PM.
